Lyn Atkins

Lyn Atkins

Lyn got his start in photography when the Air Force sent him to photo school. After 5 years in the service, he worked as a lab tech for a studio in Roanoke developing and printing black and white film. He also set up and ran the first color print processor in Roanoke. Then, he and his wife opened a studio in Roanoke, doing weddings, portraits, commercial and aerial photography. Their studio had a successful 30 year run. Seven years ago Lyn moved the studio to SML and now does all location photography and work out of Atkins Lakeshore Gallery. He is currently active in real estate, portraits, and aerial photography around the lake.

“I have enjoyed over forty years of photography… from taking, developing, and printing 5x7 sheet film to the present high res digital imaging and Photoshop. Photography is still fun and an everyday learning process.”
