Smith Mountain Lake USA Dance Chapter 6042 is a group of couples and singles who are passionate about ballroom dancing.

Each dance is preceded by a lesson taught by local instructors/professionals.

    Hello Dancers!

    Smith Mountain Lake chapter of USA Dance will have a July dance. July 30th. Lesson is at 7:30 by Jose Zuniga and the lesson is Mambo. Social dancing to follow from 8:30 -10:30. The dance will be held at Mel Harris's place AKA Carole Riggs Studio on Bateman Bridge Road in Forest VA. Directions are on the web: http://usadance6042.idnet.org

    Bring a snack to share! USA Dance sponsored events are non smoking/non alcohol events. Ice and bevarages are provided.

    Cost: USA DANCE members are $7 person and NON-MEMBERS $10 person. NOTE this pricing is different than Mel's dances. This is because USA DANCE is renting the studio for its event and these are USA DANCE prices. Apologies in advance to Mel's dancers who are used to different pricing.

    Come join us! No dancing experience is needed or required. Singles are welcome. Hardwood floor, mostly strict tempo music, and lots of good company!!

Instructor - Jose Zuniga

Jose Zuniga has taught Ballroom Dancing since 1979. He was manager of an Arthur Murray Studio in Greensboro, N.C. Jose, who teaches both American and International styles of dance, also teaches social and competitive dancing.

Jose has done outreach programs at Danville High Schools. He and his wife have performed at the Grove Park Inn, Ashville, N. C, and also at the Greenbrier in West Virginia. He also teaches in Roanoke and Lynchburg.

His studio is called "The Dance Space" and is located at 1010 Piney Forest Rd, Danville, Va. Phone: (434)836-3437.
