Attention SML symphony music lovers!
The SMAC/RSO bus-dinner package is offered for all six MasterWorks concerts by the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra (Opening night was performed on October 5, so there are five more to go).
The next one is MasterWorks 2, entitled "Ports of Call" , to be performed Monday, November 9th, at the Shaftman Performance Center at Jefferson Center. It will feature works by Ravel, Debussy, Dvorak, Strauss, and Tchaikovsky.
There still are seats available for the concert and on the Abbott Trailways coach, which will depart from Trinity Ecumenical Parish promptly at 5:00 p. m., on November 9th.
Season ticket holders who want to purchase the bus/dinner at the symphony package should phone the RSO Box Office at (540) 343-9127 and speak to Caroline Ellison. Anyone wishing to purchase a single ticket for this performance, and include the bus/dinner package, should phone Caroline and ask for the special concert ticket discount. The dinner price is $27.00 and the bus ride $18.00.
The bus delivers us to the Shaftman Center a bit before 6:00, in time to have a leisurely dinner and then attend the pre-concert "Illuminations" presented by Maestro David Stewart Wiley from 7:00 to 7:30 p. m. The concert program begins at 8:00 p. m. We're usually back on the bus by 10:00 p. m. and arrive at Trinity before 11:00 p. m.
If you have any questions, call Don Fink at 721-2904 or e-mail him at donfink@earthlink.net.
