We had a good group at the library and others who jumped in online.  We had our review and Juergen Roth showed us a few short time lapse videos he took using the intervalometer setting in his camera.  You are encouraged to check your camera settings and see if you can make a time lapse video yourself.  It seems the challenge is to find and operate software to process the hundreds of images involved in a time lapse video.

Jean Wibbens gave us a presentation on how to view images with the goal of gaining insight on what makes a successful image to improve our own work.
This was not a review on composition, this was a discussion on how to draw a viewer into your image.  A must view.

I did a short presentation on using sharpeners to overcome diffraction when shooting at f22 or greater.

The John Faber Memorial photo contest put on by our Smith Mountain Arts Council will be held the second week of July,  Info will be forthcoming in April.

The Library has asked us to put up a display again and we can have November and December.  I hope more of you can work on some prints to add to the effort.

The themes for this month are best, B&W, Something Green (no green beer please), Flowers, abstract and people.  I will add a folder called “Whatever” and you can put any image you want to discuss or help with or simply one that moved you… like whatever.

Now for a planned Walkabout / scavenger hunt on April 13th in center Bedford.
We can meet at the main library at 9:30 and walk around the grounds and go down Bridge Street and shoot in groups or alone and shoot whatever interests you or you can look for subjects listed and see if you can fill your card so to speak.  As of now I have a list that is preliminary to give you an idea of what will be agreed on as we approach the outing. Color, ICM/ intentional camera movement, Texture, antique/old, circle/circles, Art/historic, Shiney/reflections, numbers/ people and closeup.  Anyone who wishes to tag along with experienced members let me know and we can set it up, This can be a learning outing.  Rules, only one lens and you can have auxiliary lenses / diopters and filters that can fit in your pocket.  No flash units but diffusers are OK. tripods are optional for the gardens at the library.  We will shoot till 11:30 and can meet for lunch at Liberty Station.
