The Smith Mountain Arts Council (SMAC) offers a number of arts related services to the community. These include annual awards of Fine Arts Scholarships, a Student Outreach Program, and two musical groups the B-Sharps and the Noteables, that entertain at senior facilities throughout the year.

The Smith Mountain Arts Council awards up to two $2,000 two year college scholarships for high school seniors demonstrating talent in the Performing, Visual or Literary Arts.

Purpose:  To share the arts within the Smith Mountain Lake Youth Community.  To expose children to the arts and help them discover their talents. This experience is designed for youth ages 8-15.

JAM Concert

Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) is a program that teaches elementary and middle school students how to play Appalachian music on guitar, banjo and fiddle.

We are the Noteables, a singing group at the lake. We have been singing for 28 years at nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the Roanoke Lynchburg, Bedford and the Franklin area If you are interested in joining us to bring cheer to others, I invite you to you to call Carol Brewer at 540-588-2249 and leave a message.

The shores of Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia come alive with the Smith Mountain Arts Council (SMAC) eXpo. Free for all who attend, this family-friendly event.

You’ll discover paintings, sculptures, photography, mixed media, woodturning, and literature the whole family can enjoy.
