This is a popular, annual, non-juried exhibition of original artwork in a variety of genres by regional artists of all ages. Several cash awards are presented at the opening reception. A People’s Choice award is also presented at the close of the exhibition.

The contest draws artists from a wide area surrounding Smith Mountain Lake, including Roanoke, Lynchburg, Martinsville and beyond.

The John and Trudy Faber Memorial Photography Contest and Show is a popular annual Smith Mountain Arts Council event.

The contest draws casual, amateur, and professional photographers from a wide area surrounding Smith Mountain Lake, including Roanoke, Lynchburg, Martinsville and beyond.

The Lake Players meet a 3 or 4 times a year to read and perform plays written by well-known playwrights, as well as those written by our own talented Lake Writers.

A group of writers from around the Smith Mountain Lake area. The group includes writers of fiction, nonfiction, drama, and poetry. Some are published writers, and some are aspiring to getting their work published.

The Lakeside Singers is a large mixed chorus made up of local singers who perform popular and traditional music in four-part harmony. The Lakeside Singers puts on an annual themed concert the first weekend in June.

Special Events include the Roanoke Symphony, jazz performances, coffee house concerts and other musical and performance activities. All events are open to the public

The SML Photo Club provides creative support of all area photographers.  The club meets in  the Moneta Library’s Community room on the first Monday of each month at 7pm.

SMAC-Tube is SMAC’s YouTube channel.  IT showcases videos made by local residents.  If you’d like to submit a video, email info@smac-arts.com.
