lane. The Smith Mountain Arts Council (SMAC) is celebrating the lake’s milestone with a retro sock hop, one of the signature events marking the 60th
anniversary of Smith Mountain Lake.
Set for Sept. 5 at 5:30 p.m. on the gym floor at the SML YMCA at LakeWatch Plantation, the evening invites guests to lean into classic sock-hop style – think poodle skirts, saddle shoes, skinny ties and plenty of feel-good vibes. Live music will be provided by the SML Boomer Band, known for high-energy sets featuring rock ‘n’ roll favorites, Motown hits and dance-floor classics that keep crowds moving.
